2019 Château Senejac: £125 IB per dozenMonday, June 15
Senejac is owned by the Bignon-Cordier family, who also own Talbot. At Senejac the winemaking has been overseen for some years by Alfred Tesseron of Pontet-Canet...as good a reference as any wine could wish for. The 2019 scores 92-93 points from Suckling, equalling the 2018, albeit in a different style. Jane Anson find it has 'less flesh' than the '18, but with finer tannins and fresher hedgerow fruits.
Offered En Primeur, landing Spring 2022.
2019 Château Senejac, Haut Médoc Cru Bourgeois
"Extremely juicy cassis and enticing hedgerow here, this is bright, perky, less flesh on the bones than 2018 but with plenty of character. It settles in the glass, and you feel the build up of tannins. Will be interesting to taste in bottle, there is real potential here. 91 points." Jane Anson, Decanter
A firm, chewy red with blackberry and light coffee character. Medium to full body. Solid structure. 92-93 points."
£125 IB per dozen bottles
