Château Angludet have produced a very pretty 2024; with precise red fruit, very much becoming a hallmark of modern Angludet, and fine balance, it will drink well soon after release and over the following decade.

The 2024 clearly doesn't have the weight and flesh of say the 2022, but this is reflected in the reduced price, and for only a little over £20 a bottle in bond, this will make a delicious introduction to the vintage.

The château is the family home of winemaker Ben Sichel and we have watched with interest as he has pursued quality here, particularly over the last decade, using biodynamic viticulture and limiting yields drastically, a similar approach to that used at Palmer (co-owned by the Sichels).

Unusually the yield here was significantly up on the 2023, hence the generous reduction in price. As is becoming the norm at Angludet, 40% of the wine was aged in amphorae, which have a similar effect to oak barrels, but without adding wood tannins, and the remainder aged in oak.

This year it would be hard to claim that this is a 'must-have' wine for your cellar, but we think that it will provide an enormous amount of 'easy-drinking' pleasure from an early age.  The Sichels always price their large formats very reasonably and so, to provide even more pleasure, we offer the full range below!

Offered en primeur, landing spring 2027.
