"This is just exceptional within the vintage, such a deeply felt and deeply chiselled wine, and I can unhesitatingly recommend...Red wine of the vintage for me. 97 points" janeanson.com

As the 2024 Bordeaux en primeur comes to an end we now have the release of Pomerol powerhouse 2024 Château L'Eglise Clinet at £1,062 per six bottles.

Quite deservedly Jane Anson's wine of the vintage, in our own barrel tastings here it showed all the power so typical of this extraordinary estate, yet was more approachable than usual with beautiful freshness and finesse.  The release price is almost £1000 a dozen less than that of the 2022 two years ago.

Offered en primeur, landing spring 2027.

Magnums available with £20 ex-VAT bottling surcharge per six, please enquire re other formats.

Producer Profile

Château L'Eglise Clinet

Château L'Eglise Clinet is an estate in the commune of Pomerol.  Named after the church which stands nearby, the estate was made famous by owner and winemaker Denis Durantou.  He turned the 4.5 hectare vineyard into one of the most respected names in Pomerol.  The second wine is Petite Eglise.

Sadly, Denis passed away in 2020, but the estate is now run by his daughters, Noëmie and Constance.  Any doubts about Denis' legacy have been dispelled by recent vintages and it is clear that Noëmie is a talented and brilliant winemaker, putting her own stamp on her family's châteaux.
