Tasting Notes"A classic wine from Francois Mitjavile with its exotic, smoky, sexy style, the 2018 Domaine De Cambes offers a killer nose of blueberries, black raspberries, vanilla bean, crème caramel, and candied flowers. It's ripe, full-bodied, and straight-up sumptuous, with sweet tannins and wonderful depth of fruit. It's a rock star of a wine that blew me away. Enjoy bottles over the coming 10-15 years. 94 points" JebDunnock.com |

Tasting Notes"Vibrant damson in colour. I love the deep creaminess that is evident from the first nose, with hints of cocoa and gunsmoke. There is more clay here than at Canon; about 50% of the vineyard has a clay layer over the limestone whereas at Canon it is closer to 10%, meaning Berliquet is less ethereal, more urgent and powerful, still with precision and feathery chalky tannins. They have restored the underground limestone cellars for barrel ageing. A yield of 45hl/ha. 45% new oak, for what is the 2nd full year of the Canon team working the vineyard. Thomas Duclos consultant. Drinking Window 2026 - 2042. 93 points." Jane Anson, Decanter |

Tasting Notes"The 2019 Brillette is crisp and precise on the nose, offering blackberry, raspberry, cedar and light white pepper aromas and nicely integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins and good substance and weight on the finish, which is defined by graphite and tobacco notes. Unapologetically classic in style, this should give 12-15 years of drinking pleasure. 90 points." Neal Martin, Vinous------"From gravely soils in Moulis, the 2019 Brillette hails from an estate that has recently been restructured, with Cabernet Sauvignon repositioned on the most appropriate terroirs. Exhibiting aromas of cassis, wild berries, loamy soil and pencil shavings, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, with lively acids and powdery tannins. 90 points." Tasting Notes"The 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire is an absolute gem from Stéphan von Neipperg. The beautifully defined nose unfurls with each swirl of the glass, revealing blackberry, briar and touches of wild mint and heather, all precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied, quite sapid and classic in style, offering fine structure, gentle grip on the finish, and touches of black pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This is excellent and well worth seeking out. 2025-2048. 93 points." Neal Martin, Vinous. Dec '21------"Powerful and explosive in the glass, the 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire possesses tremendous depth and density from start to finish. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice, menthol and lavender are all amplified in this potent, structured Saint-Emilion. Give it a few years to soften. 2026-2039. 94 points." Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan '22------"Ripe black fruit (there's some red fruit as well), tobacco leaf, damp earth, exotic flowers, and some chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2019 Clos De L'Oratoire, another beautiful wine from the Neipperg family and team. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and seamless on the palate, I love its mid-palate, it has gorgeous tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. This is clearly a great vintage for this cuvée. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, and it's going to have 2-3 decades of longevity, and probably a gradual decline after that as well. It's beautiful. 2026-2057. 96 points." Jeb Dunnuck, Apr '22 |
