Tasting Notes"The 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire is an absolute gem from Stéphan von Neipperg. The beautifully defined nose unfurls with each swirl of the glass, revealing blackberry, briar and touches of wild mint and heather, all precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied, quite sapid and classic in style, offering fine structure, gentle grip on the finish, and touches of black pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This is excellent and well worth seeking out. 2025-2048. 93 points." Neal Martin, Vinous. Dec '21------"Powerful and explosive in the glass, the 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire possesses tremendous depth and density from start to finish. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice, menthol and lavender are all amplified in this potent, structured Saint-Emilion. Give it a few years to soften. 2026-2039. 94 points." Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan '22------"Ripe black fruit (there's some red fruit as well), tobacco leaf, damp earth, exotic flowers, and some chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2019 Clos De L'Oratoire, another beautiful wine from the Neipperg family and team. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and seamless on the palate, I love its mid-palate, it has gorgeous tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. This is clearly a great vintage for this cuvée. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, and it's going to have 2-3 decades of longevity, and probably a gradual decline after that as well. It's beautiful. 2026-2057. 96 points." Jeb Dunnuck, Apr '22

Tasting Notes"The 2019 d'Issan has an intense bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, pencil lead and wilted iris scents that unfold gradually from the glass. The oak seems nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe tannins that provide quite a firm backbone. Mainly black fruit with hints of white pepper, sage and graphite, this is a tightly-wound d'Issan with impressive persistence on the classic pencil lead finish. Maybe a bit old school? There's nothing wrong with that if it is well crafted, like this. Tasted twice, one bottle showing a little more cohesion than the first. 93-95 points." Neal Martin, Vinous.com------"A concentrated but graceful feel to this Issan, showcasing why it is one of the powerhouses of Margaux without necessarily flexing its muscles the most obviously. Takes a few moments to unroll on the palate but as it does it expands both forward and outwards, beautifully filling the mid palate with creamy brambly fruits and firm but flexible tannins. This inches open, suggesting it has an extremely long life ahead of it, and is close to the 2016 in expression, although not quite with the depth of expression of that exemplary vintage. 50% new oak, 3.7pH. 45% of overall production went into the 1st wine. Harvest from 25th September to 11th October. Drinking Window 2029 – 2045. 96 Points." Jane Anson, Decanter Magazine------"This is a very pure expression of cabernet sauvignon with blackcurrants, blackberries and tar. Wet earth, too. It's full-bodied, yet very tight and reserved. Extremely racy, intense finish. This is super precise. Classical. 96-97 Points." James Suckling

Tasting NotesRestrained, fresh nose showing red summer berry fruits, plum, dark chocolate, camphor, herbs (thyme) and peppery spice. Very fine, assertive tannins giving a linear focused attack, then concentrated with lots of spice and depth on the mid-palate. The finish is characterised by those tannins, which linger, along with a stony-gravelly character which makes this seem very grown-up indeed. Classic right bank claret but in a modern style, can't wait to see how this develops. RKL------"The 2019 Durand-Laplagne Les Terres Rouges is so distinctive. Firm tannins give the wine shape, structure and energy that build with time in the glass. Dark cherry, plum, gravel, spice and leather all flesh out in the glass. The 2019 is a bit eccentric, but it is also incredibly appealing; this is a cru to watch. It will be interesting to see if the 2019 gains a bit more flesh in élevage. 88-90 points." Tasting Notes"The 2019 Fontenil has closed down quite a bit post bottling. That's probably a good thing for its long-term prospects, though. Dark raspberry, blood orange, spice, new leather and menthol open with a bit of time in the glass. Perfumed floral accents brighten up the finish. There is a lot to look forward to, but a bit of patience is a must. 2024-2034. 93 points." Antonio Galloni, Jan '22------"The 2019 Fontenil has evolved nicely during its barrel maturation, developing more detail and precision on the nose of red fruit sous-bois and candied orange peel. The palate is medium- bodied, fresh and vibrant, with supple tannins, fine structure and a silky-smooth, persistent finish. Superb. 2024-2039. 93 points." Neal Martin, Dec '21------"The 2019 Château Fontenil is, I suspect, mostly Merlot, and it's another fine Fronsac in this vintage. Ripe black cherries, forest floor, Asian spices, and chocolate notes all emerge on the nose, and it's full-bodied, ripe, and sexy on the palate, with sweet tannins, no hard edges, and wonderful overall balance. It dishes out tons of pleasure and is a much more approachable, forward wine compared to the Le Défi de Fontenil while still possessing the class to evolve for 10-15 years. 2022-2037. 93 points." Tasting Notes"...the 2019 Tertre-Rôteboeuf marks the first time that I taste a barrel sample from outside François Mitjavile’s cellar. It possesses a very classy bouquet with beautifully defined black fruit that feels maybe less flamboyant and more introspective than previous years. It is very finely tuned, almost Burgundy-like. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins: layers of black fruit laced with dark chocolate and a gorgeous, mineral-driven finish that fans out wonderfully. It will require several years to full absorb the oak, but it is a very impressive Tertre-Rôteboeuf. Chapeau François Mitjavile. 95-97 points" Neal Martin, Vinous.com
