Here the wood is no longer subtle and dominates the aromas of citrus and petrol. There is more volume and punch to the middle-weight flavors that conclude in a markedly bitter, attenuated and short finish. As the description suggests, this is very awkward and it’s difficult to predict if it will eventually come together in bottle. 2029+. 87-89? points." Tasting Notes"The 2024 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Ménétriéres ler Cru, which suffered a high level of millerandage due to the age of vines, has a very mineral, sea spray-scented nose. The palate is tensile and sapid, veins of apricot and white peach showing impressive concentration, slightly oily towards the finish. Just a dab of white pepper pops up on the aftertaste. This is quite powerful on the nose, with touches of walnut and smoke infusing the citrus fruit. The palate is fresh on the entry with a citric line of acidity that ends this tension. The palate is vibrant with a citric entry, just a little oily in texture, linear with hints of lemongrass towards the finish that is like a coiled-up spring. Tasting NotesFrom ten parcels around the village. The Mestre's aim with this wine is to blend the various components to make a wine that is as representative of the village as possible. Few domaines have such an array of terroirs at their disposal, so this wine is one of the best exemplars of the village. 80% barrel fermented and aged, half in barrique and half in 500l casks. The remaining 20% is made in ceramic 'eggs' and glass globes. Nicolas is continually experimenting with these vessels to give texture to the wines, whilst allowing them to express their terrroir. |

The Auxey goes through the same winemaking process as the Bourgogne Côte d'Or, so the additional weight and concentration here is all down to terroir. Auxey is adjacent to Meursault and there is some of that village's richness here. This is usually the last area that the domaines harvests, being slightly cooler. The '24 has great concentration, as much as the '22 vintage, but with more lively acidity and tension. RKL------"An extra layer of weight compared with the Bourgogne Côte d’Or. It is a little spicier on the finish with a tang of tangerine and stem ginger on the aftertaste. Excellent.
