Tasting Notes"The 2024 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has more charm and fruité on the nose compared to the Clos de la Barre this year. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, moderate depth and structured but again it does not have the precision and flair of the previous vintage. Drinking Window: 2027-2034. 86-88 points" Neal Martin, Vinous.com ------"Lightish crimson. Very different from the Jadot Beaune wines just tasted. Sweet, ripe-fruited and a little spicy. Firm, juicy and dynamic. Less flirtatious than the Beaunes, firmer, denser and spicier. A firm grip but filled out by the fruit. Whole-hearted and persistent if not yet a charmer.
