Château Gazin, Pomerol

Producer Profile

Château Gazin, Pomerol

Château Gazin is an estate in Pomerol.  The château was reputedly built upon the remains of the 'Hospital of Pomeyrols', established by the Knights Templar (who have historic connections with the origins of Pomerol) to look after pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.  The cross on the label of Gazin is inspired by this.  Gazin is owned by the Dufour and Soualle families.

The 26.5 hectare vineyard  is planted to 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc. The terroir of Gazin is gravel with clay, iron and sand in the soil.
